Nel: You never saw the report?
W: I asked to see it, but I don't know what is going on in it.
Nel: Why did you want to see it?
W: To see if I understood it.
Nel: Were there photographs taken the day of the tests?
Nel: Was there video taken?
W: I don't know, I know there was photographs taken but I am not sure that there was video taken.
Nel: And it was never suggested to use those tests instead of going to an open firing range?
W: My lady as I have said, those tests were only done after the YouTube video. I am not a sound expert. I may hear something different to what a normal person would hear.
Nel: Have you heard the sound clips that were played in courts?
W: Yes, I have heard it. I heard it at the shooting range with head phones on.
Nel: What difference did you pick up between the bat and the gun?
W: My lady as I stated I have a disability of hearing properly. I didn't put my hearing aids on, putting them on would also influence or damage my hearing further.
W: I listened to the sounds without the hearing aids.
W: Certain words, sometimes have to be repeated to me as I hear the wrong words.
Nel: If you listen to the bat hitting the door, there are clear background noises of crickets, clearly. And then the gunshot noises, they are gone.
W: I can't comment. My lady I cant hear with my disability.
Nel: Now, you agreed wit Capt. Mongena, I think. He fired through a door.
W: That is what he said and I cant disagree. I can't remember if he testified about how this experiment was conducted.
Nel: It was agreed, you also agreed on the 3 degree.
W: We never dealt with the hand and with an unstable bullet.
Nel: What is a deflection to get A to E? What deflection would you need to get A to E?
Nel: So you can't tell the court what you would need?
Nel: Is it possible to show the court your experiments via photographs or video?
W: I have photographs but it is on my computer.
Nel: Would you be so kind to let us have copies of that so that we can see that?
Nel: Do you have any reports on your computer apart from this one?
W: There are a lot of thing my lady that I have done. Looked at photo's, done my own thing to get a better picture.
Nel: Do you have any reports, saved on your computer?
W: My lady, I only got one report saved on my computer, I have some notes.
Nel: When you did your test on the 8 November 2013, did you compile some notes for the defense?
W: Most of my notes were compiled in photos, I have taken photo's and my notes are compiled in photos.
Nel: Now the fact that if we, what ammunition was used? You were still under the impression that we were dealing with "Black Talon". Did you ask the accused?
W: No, my lady. My investigation was that I was doing it myself. The cartridges that were recovered at the scene. Even Prof Saayman asked me at the crime scene.
W: He asked me whether I know if Black Talon are prohibited. That is the first time that I heard that the Black talon ammunition was possibly used.
W: Then the appearance was that of Black Talon, only later on did I establish that this was Ranger ammunition.
Nel: How did you establish this?
W: I went onto the internet and made contact with this person, expert from America Mr. Alex Jason.
Nel: Capt. Mongena, in fact fired both into a water tank. What he discovered was they are very similar.
